Nothing could stop the sickness ravaging his bodies but magic and conventional means helped him through the months but his time had come almost Six days before when the sickness took him from the arms of the living. Alexander had been assigned as the protector of Princess Guinevere during the occasion. He had wished to be apart of the Templar Honor Guard but since the Knight Vigilant was attending he could not lead such a thing. Guarding the Mage Princess seemed like a job for the veteran Templar but he would rather lead the Vigil or not be in it at all. So he was assigned to stand as the princess' Sword and Shield. It had not been discussed with her what would happen if she took the Throne. But the Council had convened almost Sixteen times and come with a impartial vote every time for the next Emperor or Empress. It was tense, Watching the Prince's men eye up the templars and back and forth. They knew if the Chantry strong armed their law and claimed that the Council was using the Anti-Mage population against the Princess that swords would be crossed. The Champions of the Just against the Knights of Legend. Alexander had struck conversation with several Noble's including his siblings. And stood by when the Princess wished to talk to someone. She was a pretty woman. He had been both the Knight in charge and the man who would of wielded the blade if she was possessed. He wore a black doublet with the Orlesian Templar Sigil brooch on his chest showing he was the Knight Commander. Alexander was a handsome man and the Youngest Knight Commander in Thedas, At 24 he had done much for the Order and fought for the Inquisition with valor and skill till he became a Captain and then a Commander. He was recommended for the place by several people within the Inquisition and took it without hesitation.
He worked closely with the Uncle of the Princess and the Brother to the former Emperor. He had denied a place in the running for Emperor. Despite his liking for power Alex would never compromise the order. He had brothers and sisters that he loved more than his own siblings. They were people that had trained under him and raised to the Order beside him. He took council from both Senior Templars and the First Enchanter had more power over the running over the circle. "Princess Guinevere, I am sorry for your loss. Your father was a stern but a good man. I hope you will be able to carry his legacy on." Alexander spoke softly as he took his seat next to her. "But we will speak of his legacy after this feast in the name of your father's legacy." He said as he smiled at her and poured her a goblet of wine for himself before he filled his own. Born as the Youngest of Six Children and killed his mother in childbirth. He was often blamed for his mothers death. He was recruited to the Templars at a young age where he trained from six till he was twenty. His first duty as a Templar was at the Conclave as one of the Ambassadors. His Noble status giving him more power than some of the other less noble Templars.
He was not able to take part in the talks exactly like everybody else. He was at the town of Haven when the Conclave was destroyed and he among some other Templars at Haven joined the Inquisition.
He served the Inquisition making the rank of Captain and served as an advisor for Commander Cullen. He became known for his brutal and effective tactics against the Venatori agents.
When Cassandra was named Divine he was placed as first among many for the place as Commander of Orlesian Templars and for his service he was awarded several medals of valour and honor. Friends Alex does not have many friends but he makes sure all of his men know him almost as good as he knows them. His closest friend would have to be his Commander, Knight Vigilant Sébastien De Chalons, The man who trained and served during the Inquisition. FOES Ser Alexander does not have many enemies. He does not abuse the mages. But he makes sure Blood Mages are executed and put on trial for Blood Magic. He is a very progressive man and makes sure that he is in the best situation as possible in conversations and control in situations. LOVERS Alexander is by no means a Virgin but he has never been in love. He has had a few lovers including ladies of the Emperor's court but he has found a woman within his own circle that intrigues him. |

[attr="class","de1"] It was time for another Mages Harrowing though this was a Special Case. The Duchess was a fully trained Spirit Healer before she was supposed to have specialised. He was told to allow her to progress faster than other mages in exchange he was awarded a place as a Baron of some land which afforded him the Title of My Lord by Non-Templar or Mages. The not doing the Harrowing was unknown to the Chantry till the Knight Vigilant had found out and ordered the Harrowing to take place and the Right Hand of the Divine's letter to the Emperor.
It had been Four Years since Alexander had taken the Place as Knight Commander of the White Spire and he was well suited to the job. He was able to pass judgement of Blood Mages without remorse and was ruthlessly efficient at hunting rogue mages when needed but he could also be fair to the mages who served and did their duty to the Circle. Though when he needed to do things himself they were usually for bad things like executions and Harrowings. He knew most of his garrison of almost Two Hundred Templars by name and most of the mages as well. He was respected and feared in equal both by Templars and Mages alike. Those who disobeyed his orders were often punished. For direct insubordination he had once stripped a Templar of Lyrium for a week and put him in a cell.
When the Woman entered the room he nodded. Alexander was a Handsome man and more so when he wore his Templar plate armor. He towered over most men in his armor and was a Skilled Swordsman. As Knight Commander it was his job to watch over Harrowings. "Duchess Guinevere." He said as he looked at the Woman of Eighteen. "It is time for your Harrowing, You know what this means correct?" He said as he watched the Woman with a serious expression on his face. He looked at the Duchess, She was beautiful, exemplary student of the Arcane. Knight Commander Alexander Varen is Cold, Calculated, Manipulative, Ruthless, Narcissistic. Alexander craves power and control over all he meets. He has a predator mindset. Though like most of his siblings he would do a lot for family he loves brothers and Sister as family and would go to very far lengths to protect and advance their position. He expects the highest of loyalty from his men and those close to him as he would give as long as it suited his place. He does not think he has place for love and does not go much further than causal sex.
Despite his volatile nature he has a strange sense of honour and does not break his promise or vows. So he does not often make vows and promises. Since being one of the Previous Templars who joined the Inquisition at it's roots he was given a place as Knight Commander of the White Spire.
Being the Sixth Son of a Orlesian Noble, He is a Master Diplomat and a skilled warrior. His place as Knight Commander was secured by his service as one of the Templars to side with the Inquisition and found a place next to Commander Cullen as one of the Commanders of the Templars. | Born as the Sixth son of a Minor Noble, Alexander was often overlooked because of how far down the line he was. But in his years he grew hateful of his father who seemed to only talk spitefully about him or hit him. He looked for approval from his father and his elder brothers though he was hated by his elder brothers for killing their mother in childbirth. Despite his fathers hate of him he still was afforded the training that a Normal noble child would get in words and some skill in words. When he turned thirteen he was shipped off to the Chantry and began training as a Templar. He excelled in Combat, History and several other things. He was chosen by his peers as their leader during several of the more practical challenges and in an attempt to humiliate him the Knight that trained them attempted to best Alexander one on one and regretted it when Alexander knocked him down three times in a row. Though he had to sharpen all the Swords in the Fort he said it was well worth the punishment.
After he had been given his first draft of Lyrium he began his first services to the Divine. Becoming one of her personal guards. Though he was not immune to the addictive powers of Lyrium he had a great self control and managed to make himself be able to have half doses or spread out the doses every two days rather than one. It affected his powers very little. He served the Divine as one of her Honor guard and spent some duties in the White Spire when the Divine didn't need her full guard. He hunted Apostates and became efficient at using his abilities to stop magic at it's roots.
By the Time the Conclave began he was placed in a place near Haven showing Nobility to their quarters and guarding it. After the Explosion he decided it best to stay with the Inquisition and so he did. Serving as one of Commander Cullen's Advisors. He fought against the Grey Wardens and served as apart of the Honor Guard of the Inquisitor at Halamshiral.
